What this site is for

SportsGoogly explains where sports came from, what their laws actually say, and who governs them. It is a reference publication, not a news site. Nothing here is written to be first; it is written to still be correct in five years.

What we cover

Four areas: the origins and history of individual sports, the trophies and competitions themselves, the laws of the major world sports, and how sport is governed.

What we deliberately do not cover

No betting or gambling content of any kind. No daily results or transfer rumours. No ranked lists of athletes by appearance. No celebrity wallpaper galleries. Earlier versions of this domain published some of that material; those pages have been permanently removed and return HTTP 410, not redirected somewhere else to salvage traffic.

A note on this domain's history

SportsGoogly published from 2014 to around 2018, then decayed. During that period a number of paid betting-affiliate placements were published on it. The site has been rebuilt from scratch on a new technical foundation, and that legacy content has not been carried across.
